The Shift Solar Team
Shift Solar is a collective of sustainability-minded land development professionals with a shared vision to restore environmental balance through greener infrastructure.
Based in Ontario, Canada, our team members have developed some of the largest solar and energy storage facilities in North America. In partnership with an incredible network of landowners, we have supported the development, finance, construction, and operation of large-scale projects across two continents, five countries, and ten states.
ABOUT SHIFT SOLAR
People driven by purpose
Our mission is simple: restore environmental balance
Our development principles are informed by the solar siting recommendations laid out by the Solar Energy Industry Association. They are as follows:
Select the least damaging option when siting a solar resource. This involves considering multiple alternatives and project configurations with the goal of avoiding environmental impacts.
Meet The Team
Grant is an industry leader in renewable energy, energy storage, and large-scale power systems. He has led the development, engineering, procurement, and construction of over 1500 MWac utility-scale solar projects and over 1500 MWhs of battery energy storage systems (BESS), including Canada’s largest BESS facility and the world’s first at a nuclear power plant. In the past 3 years, Grant has led the interconnection, origination, and development activity for a pipeline of over 2 GW of utility scale solar projects and brought 50 MW of community solar projects to NTP.
Grant is well-versed in the power industry, growing from an electrician and technologist to an engineer, project manager, developer, and director. His varied experiences equip him with an unparalleled understanding of the project cycle and its intricacies.
Grant holds a BSc. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems from the University of Western Ontario. He is also a former Communication and Education committee member for Energy Storage Canada.
Bogdan has over 12 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, primarily focusing on the development, construction, and operations of large-scale commercial and utility-scale solar portfolios in North America.
Prior to starting Shift Solar, Bogdan developed a portfolio of over 400 MW of early stage CDG projects, with +80 MW reaching advanced stages of permitting, development and NTP.
Bogdan has extensive experience with municipal engagement and stakeholder relations, helping balance project requirements with local concerns. Bogdan has worked at several Canadian renewable development firms, helping mature the businesses and establish their international footprints through acquisitions, competitive procurements and greenfield development.
Bogdan holds an HBSc. in Economics and Psychology from the University of Toronto and resides in Halton Hills Ontario.
